What Is Philanthropy? 
Hi, I am a student in AP Language Arts & English Composition at Forest Hills Eastern High School in Ada, MI. Mrs. Lynn Cvengros’ AP Lang classes are entering the essay contest hosted by the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, and the prompt asks how and why philanthropy impacts the economic vitality of a region. I was wondering if it were possible to arrange a showing of Prof Alaimo’s documentary for Mrs. Cvengros’ AP Lang classes in order to see how the documentary defines philanthropy, shows examples of the forms philanthropy takes, and its impact on communities to prepare us for writing our papers. Yes, I would be happy to show it in Mrs. Cvengros’ class and if my schedule allows I would also be willing to attend the class and speak to the students. The film is 86 minutes long, so would that be too long for the class? If so, we could show the trailer and some clips to accommodate the class time.
